Elementary Athletics
The Cedars Grade 6/7 volleyball season is in full swing. Both the boys and the girls teams have had successful seasons so far, in terms of on-court skill and great displays of attitude.
. . . Thanks very much to the people who are serving as coaches (Michelle Karpenko and Teresa Bast, coaches of the boys’ team, and the coaches of the girls’ teams Jennifer Wessner, Krystal Rem
pel, and Sharon Van Delft). In addition, thanks so much to all the parents who are helping out in lots of other ways - driving kids to practices and games, re-arranging schedules to accommodate volleyball, cheering on the teams, etc.
Next on the elementary athletic calendar is basketball, which will begin in January. Mr. Beeksma and Mr. Leithead will be coaching one of the girls’ teams, with the other girls’ team to be coached by Kayla Gordon (Mrs. Gordon will be the teacher sponsor). Mr. Price will coach the boys’ team. We hope to see lots of enthusiastic kids involved!
